Psychotherapy for trauma involves various therapeutic approaches aimed at helping individuals process and recover from traumatic experiences. EMDR is an evidence-based trauma-focused therapy that uses bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, to help individuals process and integrate traumatic memories. Brainspotting is a relatively new form of psychotherapy that helps individuals process and resolve emotional and physical trauma by using the field of vision to identify specific eye positions, or "brainspots," that correlate with traumatic memories and emotions. Other modalities used may include Trauma-Focused CBT, DBT skills, somatic experiencing, and mindfulness based interventions. We also offer KAP which has been found to be very effective in relieving PTSD symptoms.
