Sayeeda recognizes that beginning therapy can be like taking a leap of faith. As a client, this experience can be filled with excitement and hope, but also fear and nervousness. Sayeeda strives to meet you wherever you are in your journey, through a warm, judgment-free approach. She acknowledges the great privilege and honor of holding space for clients’ vulnerabilities and works with you to reach your most authentic self.
Through personal and professional experiences, Sayeeda saw a need for therapeutic spaces that not only recognized but celebrated all parts of clients’ identities. She is passionate about dismantling negative stigmas surrounding mental health care and providing safe spaces for those who have been negatively impacted. Sayeeda is passionate about repairing and healing, through a collaborative, trauma-informed approach. She also strives for advocacy inside and outside of the therapeutic space, dedicated to making long-lasting change. She practices cultural humility and growth, by exercising curiosity and an eagerness to learn.
Sayeeda utilizes Rational Emotive Behavior therapy (REBT) and Humanistic theories, including narrative and existential frameworks. She also relies on Feminist theory to help address identity exploration, systemic oppression, and social change in a strengths-focused way. She prides herself on empowering and collaborating with clients to help reach their goals. Sayeeda is LGBTQ+ affirming and loves working with clients from all backgrounds.
In her free time, Sayeeda enjoys spending time with friends and family, going on bike rides, trying new restaurants, and creating mandala art.
Sayeeda operates under the direction of Brittany Hewitt, MA, LPC and under the clinical supervision of Annie Kelahan, LPC.
