Rena Diamond is a trauma-informed psychotherapist who utilizes a strength-based, integrative perspective to focus on the entire individual (body, mind, and spirit). Rena’s approach is down-to-earth, authentic, warm, insightful, humorous, and compassionate. She works collaboratively with clients to increase their self-compassion, find meaning, build resiliency, gain insight, decrease suffering, and facilitate joy and growth.

Rena’s areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, discrete and complex trauma, family of origin issues, relationships, life transitions, parenting, illness, grief, disordered eating, sexuality, giftedness, attachment issues, shame, body image, OCD, and the intersection of mental and physical health. Rena uses evidence-based modalities in her practice, such as mindfulness, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP). In addition to her graduate studies, Rena has pursued additional training in traumatology, DBT, ERP, Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, somatic based interventions, eating disorders, grief, and polyvagal theory. She is also a certified yoga instructor and long time yoga practitioner, with extensive training in mindfulness and mind-body techniques. In addition, she is a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist (CCH).

Rena welcomes clients from all racial, cultural, religious, spiritual, and ethnic backgrounds, and is LGBTQ+ affirming. Prior to becoming a therapist, Rena worked in the non-profit sector for many years on health and mental health issues before taking a professional hiatus to have children (now adolescents). Born and raised in New York City, Rena moved to Atlanta in 2007, after having lived for many years in California, Mexico, Guatemala, England, and Italy. In her free time, she loves to do yoga, run, cook, eat, travel, hike, bike, and spend time with family and friends, including her dog Miele.
